Language Sustainment and Enhancement Training (L-SET) Model:

Obtain Initial Foreign Language Proficiency
FEATURE Language Tailored Curriculum Development Products.
Incorporate feed back from the LET/ESTX and continue the LSET cycle
Enrollment into the Feature Language L-SET system
Access to FEATURE Language's tailored distance learning TDL website. Tailored 1 on 1 or small group live distance learning
Review the ESTX results and provide them to the individual and the organization
Scalable, structured, focused S-LET (live environment training)in select Countries
Evaluated Situational Training Exercise(ESTX) IN THE LIVE ENVIRONMENT
  • The student is enrolled in the Feature Languages program.
  • An online individual capability assessment is conducted by the sustainment program instructors.
  • The student is given complete access to the distance learning (TDL) website.
  • The student is introduced to his (TDL) web based instructors and an online class schedule is established.
  • Throughout the course of his/her distance learning (TDL) phase the student’s language skill will be periodically evaluated and results will be posted on his personal portion of the website.
  • The student will schedule an (S-LET) through the Feature Language web site.
  • In accordance with his established schedule the student will travel to the live environment training (S-LET) location, meet with his instructors, many of whom will be from his (TDL) training team and then begins his structured live environment training (S-LET) exercise.
  • At the end of the (S-LET) exercise a professionally administered and evaluated, task based, foreign language capability situational training exercise (E-STX) in conducted. The results of the evaluation are subsequently presented to the student and to his/her organization. The student returns to his home county, and the web based distance learning (TDL) to live environment training (S-LET) process repeats, building upon the previous sustainment and enhancement training (L-SET) period.

A basic individual (L-SET) package can be tailored to unique customer requirements:

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Initial Assessment Initial capability assessment via a web based instructor interview.
(TDL) Tailored Distance Learning Website access to the distance learning web site
Distance Learning Hours Package Scalable distance learning package based on the student's requirement
Scalable Live Environment Training S-LET 2 to 4 week structured, focused S-LET event.

5.5 day work week comprised of 3 hours of focused class room training in the morning with practical task based training in the afternoon.

2 hours per day one on one time with instructors to focus on areas needing improvement.
Model #2 – Includes lodging, transportation, work study, and cultural events
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Lodging Includes lodging in our private furnished housing; equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning, full kitchen, high speed internet, and flat screen TV.
Local phone line Provide each student with a local SIM card with data and voice packages.
Transportation Provide each student or group of students with a rental car fully insured during their stay.
Phone/Data Package Company provided mobile phone and IPAD data SIM card
Volunteer Work Place students at a local business to perform specific jobs in order to enhance their interaction with locals and increase their use of language. Typically 1-2 hours per day for 3 days a week.
Cultural events Accompany each student/ group of students to local cultural events designed to increase their exposure to the local population and enhance their language use.
Host family Provide a vetted trusted host family to interact with part time.
Cultural advisor Provide each student / group of students with a dedicated cultural advisor to accompany them during free hours and provide practice of language use outside of the structured programs.
